What are cookies?

An “internet cookie” (also known as “browser cookie”, “HTTP cookie” or simply “cookie”) is a file of small dimensions, consisting of letters and numbers which will be stored on the visitor’s computer, mobile device or other equipment from which internet is accessed.

A cookie consists of two parts: name and content (or value). Technically, only the webserver which sent the cookie may access it again when the visitor returns to the website associated with such webserver.

The cookies by themselves do not require personal data in order to be used and, in most cases, do not identify internet visitors, as the information collected through cookies are not of such nature as to lead to the direct identification of internet visitors. By means of cookies, the following types of information may however be collected: IP address, geo-location data, data regarding the operating system, data regarding the resolution of the devices being used, information regarding websites visits, data regarding organic traffic.

Depending on their lifetime, cookies may be classified in session cookies or persistent cookies. Session cookies have a storage duration that is limited to the length of a visitor session. When closing the session or the browser, the stored information is deleted.

Persistent cookies are stored in a visitor’s device for a variable amount of time, longer than the duration of a session, and are not deleted when closing the session or the browser, but at the expiry of said duration.

What are third party cookies?

Certain content sections on the Website or certain Website’s functionalities may be provided through third parties/providers. Such third parties may place these cookies on the Website (called “third party cookies” since they are not placed by the owner of the website). The third-party providers also have to observe the legal regulations in force and the confidentiality policies of the website owner.

More details regarding the manner in which these third parties handle the placement and use of cookies may be found in the corresponding policies of such third parties. Below at “What cookies do this Website use?” section, you can identify the third parties that provide cookies for our Website.

All of these cookies are only set based on your choices. For this reason, when you access our Website a special banner (cookie banner) is displayed which:

  • informs you that, depending on your choice, our Website may use cookies to measure website traffic and audience, to integrate social media features and to personalize advertising, and we may also provide social media, advertising and analytics partners with information about how you use our Website; and
  • gives you the ability to opt-in to the categories of cookies that our Website installs on your devices (except for necessary cookies that are automatically installed when you access the Website).

Once you have opted in, the cookie banner will disappear. We will track your choice/consent (if any) via a specific technical cookie. As a consequence, the cookie banner will no longer be displayed if you visit our Website again in the future. Should you decide to delete technical cookies, please note that we will lose track of your choices/consent and as such the cookie banner will be presented to you again on your next visit to our Website. You may decide at any time, at your discretion, to block the profiling cookie settings or withdraw your previously expressed consent without affecting your ability to visit the Website and benefit from the relevant content.

Every time our Website introduces a new cookie, either managed by RINF TECH or a third party, you will receive a notice on the Website, including a link to this policy, also providing you with the option to accept or deactivate the respective cookie, as the case may be.

If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a website, and some services and functionalities may not work.

You may block/deactivate cookies in the settings of your web browser. However, if you use your browser settings to block all cookies (including essential cookies), you may not be able to access all or parts of our Website, as these may be strictly necessary for the functioning of the Website.
